About MIT

The AIRES program at MIT offers a small-group, 3-week, commuter-only experience designed to leverage the state-of-the-art facilities and innovation ecosystem of one of the world’s top engineering institutions. This program is open exclusively to rising Grade 11 and 12 students, who will be asked to submit an additional short response of 200 words answering “What inspires you?”

Out-of-state and international students are welcome to apply but must arrange their own accommodation. AIRES is not responsible for off-campus housing or activities beyond designated program hours. This selective session provides a unique opportunity for advanced students to engage in intensive AI research and creative problem-solving at the very heart of technological innovation.

Session offerings

Aug 9 – Aug 28 (3-week program)

$9,850 for the 3-week program

Students should also budget for personal expenses such as souvenirs, and small academic costs like printing.

AIRES at MIT is open to rising Grade 10–12 students, primarily from the U.S. Due to limited capacity and the highly competitive nature of the MIT location, priority consideration will be given to rising Grade 11 and 12 students. Rising Grade 10 applicants may be considered on a selective basis and must demonstrate exceptional academic performance, rigorous coursework, and meaningful extracurricular engagement.
