Practical information.
A shared understanding.

Travel dates and session check-in

Use the dates in your AIRES offer and the campus program information. Specific arrival windows, departure windows, and meeting instructions will be shared with enrolled families before the program.

Early arrival and late checkout may be requested but are not guaranteed. Confirm arrangements before purchasing flights that fall outside the published travel windows.

Airport-transfer arrangements by campus

  • Yale and Columbia: AIRES provides airport pickup and drop-off from JFK and Newark airports within the program’s designated arrangements.
  • UC Berkeley: AIRES provides airport pickup and drop-off from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) within the program’s designated arrangements.
  • Share flight details with AIRES and wait for confirmation of the meeting point and transfer window. Contact the team promptly about delays or itinerary changes.

Traveling independently

Families are responsible for travel expenses to and from the program. If your student will use an airline’s unaccompanied-minor service, check the airline’s rules and confirm with AIRES whether the required handover arrangements can be accommodated before booking.

Parents do not need to stay nearby throughout the session. Families arranging their own transport should follow the confirmed campus check-in and checkout instructions.

These guides support planning for Summer Residential, not non-residential programs. Your enrollment documents and final campus instructions contain the session-specific arrangements. about individual circumstances.
