Confirm coverage before arrival
All students must have health insurance that covers them during the program and travel to and from it. Families are responsible for arranging and paying for appropriate coverage; AIRES does not provide complimentary health insurance.
Families should confirm suitable coverage for the student’s time in the United States and review the policy’s treatment, emergency, and out-of-network provisions with their insurer.
Bring insurance details and a reachable parent or guardian contact. Ask the insurer how to obtain care and handle payment or claims while away from home.
Have copies of both sides of the insurance card, the policy number, and the insurer’s assistance number ready. For international policies, confirm U.S. coverage and any exclusions, deductibles, or upfront payment requirements. Follow AIRES’s secure instructions for any requested insurance documentation.
Share care needs securely
Tell AIRES about medication, allergies, dietary needs, accessibility requirements, or other support needs through the designated enrollment process. Do not include medical records or sensitive health details in a general contact or updates form.
Each residential session includes a designated first-aid director, supported by the camp director and residential staff. Campus-specific health and emergency procedures are communicated to enrolled families before arrival.
Health coverage and tuition refunds are separate
Health coverage and trip-cancellation coverage are different. Review any insurance terms separately from the AIRES deposit and refund policy; purchasing insurance does not change the program’s refund terms.
Families may consider separate travel, flight, tuition, or cancel-for-any-reason coverage. Check eligibility, purchase deadlines, exclusions, and reimbursement limits directly with the insurer; no policy should be assumed to cover every cancellation.
